REVIEW BY: The Tom Martino Troubleshooter Crew (Kelly"Tank" Parr)

Frightmare started as a small back yard haunted house almost 25 years ago, and has since grown into one of Colorado’s spookiest haunted attractions.  It actually ended up being one of night’s favorites due to its attention to detail and well planned out scares.  Set on old farmland, Frightmare does an excellent job of combing natural ambience and superb set design to create an overall eerie feeling.  My favorite part had to be the Texas Chainsaw Massacre scene (complete with chainsaw wielding maniac).  Frightmare is a definite see this season and would be the perfect family haunted house.

Frightmare has always been one of my favorite Haunted Houses to visit each year. They always put on the best show with the most detailed sets around, this year was no exception. We noticed as we drove into the parking area that there was a new facade this year. It was castle complete with turrets, flames and dracula! It is huge and very impressive. I should mention that Frightmare is an outside Haunt so in my mind anything goes. The actors stayed in character and taunted us as we went through several different twists and turns. There was the familiar cave, a fountain with strobe light effects, a barn with a hospital inside, the mine and more. The pathway has changed from last year and they did a great job of disorienting us. I totally enjoy the ambiance of Frightmare. From the pond you have to walk over to the quick-sand pit, it is constantly changing. We were fortunate enough to go on a slow night and never did catch up to the group ahead of us (as happend with some of the other Houses we visited).

The attention to detail, the actors, being outside all go to make Frightmare my favorite Haunted House each year.
